PI COu*JccL
COIAfut. m7
Murashige, Laura
From: Denise Fasciano <barefootrealtor@aol.com>
Sent: Tuesday,January 24, 2017 11:51 AM COUNTY CLERKCOUNTY OF HAWAII
To: Council Testimony •
Subject: RES 49-17 A riate funds for Ocean Rescue at Kua Ba R20 pm ECEIVED Oil
Appropriate p y Date -J"Au. 24 2017
Dear Council Members,
I lived many years as a resident of the Big Island, Hawaii County. I now live in North Carolina, but visit
the Big Island every year to see my son and grandsons. My favorite beaches are Kua Bay and
Hapuna Beach. My son is a lifeguard at Hapuna Beach and I know to respect the ocean at all times.
Kua Bay is the Big Island's most clear-water beach. The water is so crystal clear and the turquoise
waters are so inviting to dive into!!! My dad when he first saw Kua Bay had tears in his eyes from the
great beauty of the crystal clear waters he had overcame his fear of going into the ocean, at just this
beach he would go in. It also made him want to come back to Hawaii just to swim in the waters of Kua
Bay. I am glad my Dad got to see such a beautiful beach (thanks for paving the road) and swim in this
Island gem before he died.
I give support on RES 49-17 to appropriate funds for employment of lifeguards, and funds for
equipment and a lifeguard tower at Kua Bay. This is good for residents and visitors alike. It will save
countless lives to have the beach guarded and for the public benefit.
Mahalo and Aloha,
Denise M.
