COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII ATF 6;14 ell RESOLUTION NO. 111 17 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO GOING HOME HAWAII TO ASSIST THE HAWAII COMMUNITY COLLEGE, OFFICE OF CONTINUING EDUCATION AND TRAINING, WITH ITS CANOE PROJECT. WHEREAS, Going Home Hawai`i is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization created to assist men and women released from correctional institutions to reintegrate into the community; and WHEREAS, Going Home Hawai`i is the governing fiscal body for the Hawai`i Island Going Home Consortium, which is a collaboration of more than 50 public and private entities that assist offenders and incarcerated individuals through its "In-Reach and Reintegration" program; and WHEREAS, the Hawai`i Island Going Home Consortium has partnered with the Hawai`i Community College, Office of Continuing Education and Training, to assist with reintegration through culture and apprenticeship by offering lessons on canoe building and restoration to inmates at the Kulani Correctional Facility; and WHEREAS, Going Home Hawaii is seeking funds to assist the Hawai`i Community College, Office of Continuing Education and Training, with the costs for materials and supplies for its canoe project; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 8 will be appropriated to the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney to provide a grant to Going Home Hawai`i to assist the Hawai`i Community College, Office of Continuing Education and Training, with its canoe project for inmates at the Kulani Correctional Facility. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
