--+tY Os M <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII :• i\-" / • STATE OF HAWAII <br /> 4 Of*M' <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 112 17 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO FRIENDS OF THE <br /> FUTURE FOR THE THIRD ANNUAL HOKUPA'A YOUTH SUMMIT. <br /> WHEREAS, Hokupa'a is an organization created through collective efforts of West <br /> Hawaii leaders from the University of Hawaii at Hilo, Hawai`i State Department of Education - <br /> West Hawaii Complex Area, Kamehameha Schools, Hawaii Community College, Queen <br /> Lili`uokalani Children's Center, The Learning Coalition, and Hawaii Office of Youth Services; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, the Hokupa`a Youth Summit is organized to align the work of programs, <br /> organizations, and the community to improve the quality of life for youth and young adults from <br /> the ages of 11 to 25; and <br /> WHEREAS, Friends of the Future is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is <br /> to encourage people to contribute their values to create shared visions to improve communities; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, Friends of the Future is committed to working with Hokupa`a to achieve its <br /> objectives; and <br /> WHEREAS, Friends of the Future is requesting funds to provide food, beverages, and <br /> t-shirts for the third annual Hokupa`a Youth Summit that will be held on April 28, 2017; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 8 will be appropriated to the Office of the <br /> Prosecuting Attorney to provide a grant to Friends of the Future for the third annual Hokupa`a <br /> Youth Summit. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
