RESOLUTION NO. 124 1'2 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO PUNA COMMUNITY MEDICAL CENTER TO ASSIST WITH MEDICAL SUPPLIES. WHEREAS,the Puna Community Medical Center(PCMC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that is a community-based health center whose mission is to provide readily accessible, high-quality health care for the residents and visitors of Puna; and WHEREAS, PCMC is a walk-in medical clinic that provides urgent care services that is located in the Pahoa Marketplace; and WHEREAS, PCMC is expanding their facilty to include family medicine such as infant and children care,prenatal care, immunizations, and nutrition to provide additional medical services for the Puna community; and WHEREAS,the PCMC is requesting funds to assist with the purchase of medical supplies to provide additional medical services for the Puna community, and other expenses, including, but not limited to, immunizations, syringes, tongue blades, bandages, and oxygen; and WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 5 will be appropriated to the Department of Research and Development to provide a grant to Puna Community Medical Center to assist with purchasing of medical supplies for the residents and visitors of Puna. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
