No. 161 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> Kailua-Kona, Hawai`i <br /> TIME: 9:05 a.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawai`i County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Planning, to which was referred Communication No. 161, reports as <br /> follows: <br /> Communication No. 161, transmitted by Mayor Harry Kim, dated February 22, 2017, nominates <br /> William Don Boswell, Jr. of Council District 8 to the County of Hawai`i Water Board. <br /> Mr. Boswell has been a resident of Hawai`i for 24 years and is currently a Civil Project Manager <br /> for Kohanaiki Builders, LLC in Kailua-Kona. Mr. Boswell previously worked for Bolton, Inc., a <br /> construction company on the Big Island for over 19 years. If Mr. Boswell is confirmed, he <br /> would serve a term ending December 31, 2021. <br /> Ms. Rose Bautista, Executive Assistant to Mayor Kim, introduced Nominee Boswell. <br /> Mr. Boswell appeared in Chambers and offered a summary of his expertise and responded to <br /> questions from Council Members. He then stated that he has the full support of his employer to <br /> be a member of, and attend meetings.of the Water Board. <br /> Several Council Members commented in favor of Mr. Boswell because of his background,his <br /> experience with water systems, and because of respected individuals that highly recommended <br /> Mr. Boswell for this position. The vote was then taken with all Council Members voting"aye." <br /> Chair Eoff stated that Mr. Boswell did not need to appear at the Council meeting on April 5, <br /> 2017, for confirmation of his appointment. <br /> Pursuant to Section 8-2 of the Hawaii County Charter, the Mayor shall appoint, with the <br /> approval of council, a resident of each council district to serve on the Water Board. <br /> PC Report No. 7 <br />
