COUNTY OF HAWAII ._�` ''/;•': STATE OF HAWAII RESOLUTION NO. 150 17 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE FOOD BASKET, INC., TO ASSIST THE STATE OF HAWAPI DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH'S SUPPLEMENTAL NUTRITION ASSISTANCE PROGRAM. WHEREAS, the State of Ilawai'i Department of Health's Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program ("SNAP")has offered to bring the Double Bucks program to the Volcano Farmers Market for the benefit of the Volcano Village community;and WHEREAS, the Double Bucks program provides for the purchase of fresh local fruits and vegetables affordable to the residents of Volcano; and WHEREAS, it will directly benefit our island's agricultural economy and allow our local farmers the opportunity to develop their business; and WHEREAS, The Food Basket, Inc., is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose goal is to collaborate with organizations and fulfill its partnering mission to eradicate the root of hunger; and WHEREAS, The Food Basket, Inc., strongly supports making the Double Bucks program available to the Volcano Farmers Market and provide this program to address food insecurity and benefit the Volcano community; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai'i County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment. materials,or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now. therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAPI that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 6 will be appropriated to the Department of Research and Development to provide a grant to The Food Basket, Inc., to assist with SNAP's Double Bucks program at the Volcano Farmers Market. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of I Iawai'i hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
