COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 152 17 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO LA`I`OPUA 2020 TO <br /> ASSIST WITH EXPENSES ASSOCIATED WITH THE ALLIANCE FOR A <br /> SUSTAINABLE AHUPUA'A - 9'1" ANNUAL PUWALU. <br /> WHEREAS, La`i`Opua 2020 is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that promotes unity <br /> by establishing social, educational, recreational, medical, and cultural services, programs. and <br /> infrastructure that assist the residents ofHawai`i County; and <br /> WHEREAS,the Alliance for a Sustainable Ahupua`a - 9th Annual Puwalu is scheduled <br /> to take place on April 7,2017 at the West Hawaii Civic Center to discuss State, County,and <br /> other community projects, legislative priorities, and long-range planning goals to develop <br /> community facilities that will serve the native Hawaiian community and the West Hawaii <br /> region; and <br /> WHEREAS. La'i'Opua 2020 is requesting funds to pay for publications, postage, food, <br /> and other expenses associated with the Alliance for a Sustainable Ahupua`a - 9`h Annual Puwalu; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, one of the Department of Liquor Control's goals is to support programs that <br /> promote alcohol-and drug-free activities, such as the Alliance for a Sustainable Ahupua'a: and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-I39(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project,event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; and <br /> WHEREAS. Contingency Relief funds from Council District 8 will be appropriated to <br /> the Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant to La`i'Opua 2020 for expenses associated <br /> with the Alliance for a Sustainable Ahupua`a - 9111 Annual Puwalu; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the <br /> following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below: <br />
