Go Pi Pt. I IS
Murashige, Laura
From: Megan Lamson <Iamson@hawaii.edu>
Sent: Friday, March 03, 2017 11:53 AM k.: COUNTY CLERK
To: Council Testimony ' =:; COUNTY OF HAWAII
Subject: I support RESO 81-17 for the March 8th Council MeetingRECEDED
Time S o 8y
Date (3/&J/7
Aloha mai kakou,
Please note that I am in favor and fill SUPPORT of Resolution 81-17 which urges the Hawai'i
State Legislature to pass HB2 and HB229 in this session. Many thanks to councilman Richards and
councilwoman Ruggles for introducing this resolution.
See below for my email to our house reps on this very same issue.
Happy aloha Friday and see you next week!
Me ka mahalo,
meg
Forwarded message
From: Megan Lamson <Iamson(ahawaii.edu>
Date: Fri, Mar 3, 2017 at 11:42 AM
Subject: I SUPPORT HB2!
To:
Aloha House Representatives,
I wholeheartedly support HB2 that would allow tiny houses on farm land throughout Hawai`i. When I
moved to the Kona side of Hawai`i Island from Puna in 2012,the only affordable unit I found was a coffee
shack in South Kona that was less than 500 square feet. Being able to construct/live in tiny houses will help
accommodate for the growing population and allow for small family farms to provide affordable housing
options to farm workers, civil servants and marine biologists alike. My husband and I fully support the intent of
both HB2 and HB229 and we hope that you move them forward during the next opportunity.
Here is a website with more information about the growing"tiny home"movement
worldwide: http://thetinylife.com/what-is-the-tiny-house-movement/
Many thanks for your time and consideration :) Corm No. t -‘
`$
Ref.
