I lived on an experimental eco village <br /> type farm in Waimanalo on Oahu for a few years and it was a challenging and wonderful experience that I I would highly <br /> recommend. I think it is important to itemize the characteristics of an eco village, I.e.cooperative ownership, no carbon <br /> footprint,sustainable agroforestry practices, building from on site or recycled materials, non reliance on fossil fuels, etc. <br /> Then give one point for each item accomplished and require say 7 out of 10 items needed to qualify as an eco village( <br /> sustainable research facility).
