Planning Department Serves as <br /> a Vital Coordinating Agency <br /> The Department delivers administrative, logistical and technical support for <br /> over 30 different land use processes ranging from building permits to <br /> change of zones to managing coastal resources. <br /> Support and participation is also provided to over 20 different <br /> entities, including our Community Development Plan Steering and Action <br /> Committees, Board of Appeals, Cultural Resources Commission, Windward <br /> and Leeward Planning Commissions, and the County Council. <br /> Planning serves as a conduit for communication and coordination between <br /> communities and the various government agencies regarding specific land <br /> use actions and the development of broader land use policies. <br />
