• <br /> `pJ��YCsh'w'' <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII -{ �`'�=��' �_#- STATE OF HAWAII <br /> OF'M'''' <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 182 '? <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO KA`U RURAL <br /> HEALTH COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION,INC., TO ASSIST WITH THE <br /> PUBLICATION COSTS OF A YOUTH RELATED ANTI-VIOLENCE BOOK. <br /> WHEREAS,the Ka`u Rural Health Community Association, Inc., (KRHCAI) is a <br /> 501(c)(3)nonprofit organization that supports and promotes community empowerment through <br /> education and economic development opportunities; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Health determined through its Sexual Violence Primary <br /> Prevention planning efforts that there is a need for greater public awareness and education about <br /> sexual violence and unhealthy relationships among the youth and young adults of Hawai`i; and <br /> WHEREAS, KRHCAI is creating a story/activity book and DVD called"Tita the Turtle" <br /> to emphasize healthy relationships and promote prevention goals and strategies to achieve <br /> healthy, respectful, and non-violent relationships; and <br /> WHEREAS, "Tita the Turtle"will target keiki from preschool through Third Grade, and <br /> was authored by Malie Ibarra, a junior at Ka`u Intermediate and High School in Pahala; and <br /> WHEREAS, KRHCAI is requesting funds to assist with the purchase of paper, binding, <br /> sleeves, covers, blank DVDs, crayons, and bags for the publication of the story/activity book and <br /> DVD; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139 (a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program,project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment,materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 9 will be appropriated to Office of the <br /> Prosecuting Attorney to provide a grant to Ka`u Rural Health Community Association, Inc., to <br /> assist with publication costs for a youth related anti-violence book. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
