OF F..... <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 183 17 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE NORTH <br /> KOHALA COMMUNITY RESOURCE CENTER FOR EXPENSES RELATING TO THE <br /> KOHALA COQUI COALITION. <br /> WHEREAS,the North Kohala Community Resource Center(NKCRC) is a 501(c)(3) <br /> nonprofit organization whose mission is to increase the number of successful community <br /> projects that benefit North Kohala; and <br /> WHEREAS,the Kohala Coqui Coalition(KCC) is a NKCRC project that is working to <br /> prevent and maintain the prevention of the coqui from overtaking Kohala; and <br /> WHEREAS,the coqui has no predators, parasites, or diseases in Hawai`i to reduce the <br /> growth of their population; and <br /> WHEREAS, the coqui arrive in Kohala via plants and vehicles from infested areas of the <br /> island; and <br /> WHEREAS, KCC will continue a three-pronged approach to prevent infestations via <br /> education,prevention, and eradication; and <br /> WHEREAS,NKCRC is requesting funds for the KKC project to assist with the <br /> purchases of chemicals, safety supplies, newspaper, advertising and printing, and equipment and <br /> repair; and <br /> WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program,project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment,materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 9 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Research and Development to provide a grant to the North Kohala Community Resource Center <br /> for expenses relating chemicals, and safety supplies, newspaper, advertising and printing, and <br /> equipment and repair for the Kohala Coqui Coalition. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transferred/appropriated the following amount as set forth below: <br />
