The purpose of this amendment is to reduce the "Minimum Right-of-Way" <br /> width from 50 to 40 feet for minor streets in areas characterized as rural and agricultural in <br /> section 23-41 of the subdivision code. This reduced standard reflects the conditions that <br /> currently exist in many rural subdivisions within Hawai`i County. The minimum right-of-way <br /> standard of 50 feet for minor streets in urban areas is unchanged by this proposal. <br /> SECTION 2. Chapter 23, article 3, division 4, section 23-41, Hawai`i County Code <br /> 1983 (2016 Edition, as amended), is amended by amending subsection(a) to read as follows: • <br /> "(a) Unless otherwise indicated on the County general plan, the width of a street in feet <br /> shall not be less than the minimums shown in the following table: <br /> Type of Street Minimum Pavement <br /> _ Right-of-Way <br /> Parkways 300 feet 24 feet <br /> Primary arterials 120 feet 24 feet <br /> 60 feet (urban) <br /> Secondary arterials 80 feet 24 feet (rural) <br /> 24 feet (agricultural) <br /> 36 feet (urban) <br /> Business & industrial streets 60 feet 24 feet (rural) <br /> 24 feet (agricultural) <br /> 24 feet (urban) <br /> Collector streets 60 feet 20 feet (rural) <br /> 20 feet (agricultural) <br /> 50 feet 20 feet (urban) <br /> Minor streets 20 feet (rural) <br /> 40 feet 20 feet (agricultural) <br />
