No. 279 PLACE: Council Chambers • Hilo, Hawai`i TIME: 9:48 a.m. Council Chair and Members Hawai`i County Council Hilo, Hawai`i 96720 Your Committee on Public Safety and Mass Transit,to which was referred Communication No. 279, reports as follows: Communication No. 279, transmitted by Mayor Harry Kim, dated April 27, 2017, nominates Andi Pawasarat-Losalio of District 6 to the Hawai`i County's Liquor Control Adjudication Board. Ms. Pawasarat-Losalio is the Executive Director and a Substance Abuse Counselor for Bridge House, Inc., a non-profit clean and sober living environment located in Keauhou-Mauka, Kona. She has been employed by Bridge House, Inc., since 2001. Ms. Pawasarat-Losalio received her Associates of Arts degree and Certificate of Human Services from Hawai`i CommunityCollege. s g She has been a resident of Hawaii for approximately 27 years. Ms. Pawasarat-Losalio states she is not affiliated with any political party. If Ms. Pawasarat- Losalio is confirmed, she would serve a term ending December 31, 2021. Bautista,Executive Assistant to Mayor Kim,Rose y introduced Nominee Pawasarat-Losalio. Ms. Pawasarat-Losalio appeared in Chambers and offered a summary of her expertise and responded to questions from Council Members. Several Council Members commented in favor of Ms. Pawasarat-Losalio. Council Member Chung commented about the role of the Adjudication Board and spoke highly of Liquor Commission Director Gerald Takase. Ms. Pawasarat-Losalio was urged to seek his guidance. The vote was then taken with nine Council Members voting "aye." Pursuant to Section 7-3.3 of the Hawai`i County Charter, the Mayor shall appoint,with the approval of council;five members to serve on the Liquor Control Adjudication Board. PSMTC Report No. 2
