No. 279 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> • Hilo, Hawai`i <br /> TIME: 9:48 a.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawai`i County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Public Safety and Mass Transit,to which was referred Communication <br /> No. 279, reports as follows: <br /> Communication No. 279, transmitted by Mayor Harry Kim, dated April 27, 2017, nominates <br /> Andi Pawasarat-Losalio of District 6 to the Hawai`i County's Liquor Control Adjudication <br /> Board. <br /> Ms. Pawasarat-Losalio is the Executive Director and a Substance Abuse Counselor for Bridge <br /> House, Inc., a non-profit clean and sober living environment located in Keauhou-Mauka, Kona. <br /> She has been employed by Bridge House, Inc., since 2001. Ms. Pawasarat-Losalio received her <br /> Associates of Arts degree and Certificate of Human Services from Hawai`i CommunityCollege. <br /> s <br /> g <br /> She has been a resident of Hawaii for approximately 27 years. <br /> Ms. Pawasarat-Losalio states she is not affiliated with any political party. If Ms. Pawasarat- <br /> Losalio is confirmed, she would serve a term ending December 31, 2021. <br /> Bautista,Executive Assistant to Mayor Kim,Rose y introduced Nominee Pawasarat-Losalio. <br /> Ms. Pawasarat-Losalio appeared in Chambers and offered a summary of her expertise and <br /> responded to questions from Council Members. <br /> Several Council Members commented in favor of Ms. Pawasarat-Losalio. Council Member <br /> Chung commented about the role of the Adjudication Board and spoke highly of Liquor <br /> Commission Director Gerald Takase. Ms. Pawasarat-Losalio was urged to seek his guidance. <br /> The vote was then taken with nine Council Members voting "aye." <br /> Pursuant to Section 7-3.3 of the Hawai`i County Charter, the Mayor shall appoint,with the <br /> approval of council;five members to serve on the Liquor Control Adjudication Board. <br /> PSMTC Report No. 2 <br />
