The purpose of the proposed amendments is to <br /> incorporate the definitions of meeting facilities and community buildings into a single, comprehensive <br /> definition by maintaining and expanding upon the definition of meeting facilities. Additionally, the <br /> amendments will identify what zoning districts will require a Special Permit or a Use Permit to allow <br /> for a meeting facility. <br /> The Commission voted to forward a favorable recommendation to the County Council on the request <br /> with revisions. <br /> A subsequent public hearing was held for"housekeeping"purposes on June 1, 2017, so that the <br /> Commission could consider additional minor revisions proposed by the Planning Director. The <br /> Commission, again, voted to forward a favorable recommendation to the County Council on this <br /> matter. <br /> Therefore, a draft bill is attached for your favorable consideration. We have also enclosed a copy of <br /> the Planning Director's Background and Recommendation Reports, the suggested amendments by the <br /> Planning Director and the draft transcripts of the hearings for your information. <br /> Hawai`i County is an Equal Opportunity Provider and Employer <br />
