Ms. Ikeuchi currently attends Hawai'i Community College at <br /> Palamanui and hopes to graduate in 2018 with an AA degree in Liberal Arts. She is also <br /> employed at Gypsea Gelato in Kealakekua and is a 2016 graduate of the West Hawai'i <br /> Exploration Academy in Kailua-Kona. <br /> Michaela was born in Hawai'i and moved to the mainland with her family when she was 6 years <br /> old. The family returned home to Hawai'i 3 years ago after 10 years of living in Washington <br /> State. Michaela is a native Hawaiian who has deep roots in the Kona area. At a young age, <br /> Michaela is passionate about serving her community and is interested in seeing development <br /> projects and how they impact a community. She currently volunteers as a museum docent at <br /> the Hulihe'e Palace and is an active member of the Daughters of Hawai'i and Friends of Amy <br /> Greenwell Ethnobotanical Garden. <br /> Ms. Ikeuchi states she is not affiliated with any political party. If confirmed, she will fill <br /> the remaining term of Ms. Fanny Au Hoy, a departing commissioner, for a term ending <br /> December 31, 2017.
