For fiscal year 2017-2018, the County of Hawaii expects <br /> to collect 10 months of additional revenue which is projected to be approximately <br /> $4,600,000. <br /> UTILIZATION OF THE FUNDS <br /> The Utilization of funds_will be mainly focused on: replenishing the emergency fund, <br /> funding the increase in S&W and fringe benefits consistent with the union contracts, <br /> investing in equipment and other resources that will create operational efficiencies, and <br /> funding materials for road resurfacing, school safety, mass transit, and traffic safety <br /> projects. <br /> The table below shows the projected utilization of the increase in Fuel Tax Revenue: <br /> Fuel Tax Increase Revenue Utilization <br /> Road Paving $ 1,700,000 <br /> Mass Transit $ 1,000,000 <br /> School Safety Projects $ 260,000 <br /> Emergency/Disaster Fund $ 300,000 <br /> Signal Upgrades _ $ 520,000 <br /> S&W and Fringe Increase _ $ 330,000 <br /> Equipment $ 490,000 <br /> $ 4,600,000 <br /> County of Hawai`i is an Equal Opportunity Provider and Employer. <br />
