No. 244-17 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i <br /> TIME: 9:46 a.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawai`i County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 244-17, reports as follows: <br /> Resolution No. 244-17, transmitted by Council Member Valerie Poindexter, via Communication <br /> No. 369 dated July 14, 2017, authorizes the Office of the Mayor to enter into an agreement with the <br /> Office of Research Services, University of Hawai`i. <br /> The agreement would provide$25,000 from the Department of Research and Development to fund the <br /> AgVenture program. The program increases agricultural awareness by supplementing fourth grade <br /> classes with events focusing on agricultural careers and entrepreneurial opportunities. <br /> Council Member Sue Lee Loy made a motion to amend Resolution 244-17 with the content of <br /> Communication No. 369.1.
