No. 386/Bill No. 59 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> Kailua-Kona, Hawai`i <br /> TIME: 2:22 p.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawai`i County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Planning, to which was referred Bill No. 59, reports as follows: <br /> Bill No. 59, transmitted jointly with Bill 60, by Mayor Harry Kim, via Communication No. 386, <br /> dated July 26, 2017, amends the State Land Use Boundaries Maps for the County of Hawaii by <br /> changing the District Classification from the Agricultural District to the Urban District at <br /> Kea'au, Puna, Hawai`i, covered by Tax Map Key: 1-6-141:002. <br /> The Windward Planning Commission forwarded its favorable recommendation for this <br /> amendment to the State Land Use Boundaries Maps. <br /> Planning Consultant Mr. Sidney Fuke, representing the applicant, came forward to provide a <br /> brief background and answer questions. Council Member Eileen O'Hara inquired as to whether <br /> improvements were going to be made within the project area, to which Mr. Fuke responded <br /> affirmatively. <br /> The vote was taken on the motion to approve Bill 59 and passed with eight ayes.
