REQUEST: <br /> For a resolution authorizing the Mayor to enter into a Memorandum of Agreement with the National Oceanic <br /> and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Office for Coastal Management (OCM) regarding the sharing of <br /> cost for collection and processing of digital geographic data for the entire Hawaii Island. <br /> B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED): <br /> This agreement partners the County of Hawaii with the NOAA for the collection and processing of Light <br /> Detection and Ranging (Lidar) data covering the entire Hawaii Island (4028 square miles). The County of <br /> Hawai`i's contribution of$150,000, which covers the cost.for 400 square miles, will be a portion of a larger <br /> data collection for the entire island.
