.J�tr os Nyy; <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br /> ------------------ <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 267 1/ <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE BIG ISLAND <br /> RESOURCE CONSERVATION AND DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL TO SUPPORT THE <br /> 5TH ANNUAL HAWAII ISLAND ALL NATIONS POWWOW. <br /> WHEREAS,the Big Island Resource Conservation and Development Council is a local <br /> 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose vision is to conserve, enhance, and promote the <br /> economic, cultural, and natural environment of Hawai`i; and <br /> WHEREAS, a powwow is a celebration and educational event that fosters an <br /> understanding and connection through the sharing of Native American music, singing, dance, <br /> and storytelling in a family-oriented community gathering; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Big Island Resource Conservation and Development Council will assist <br /> with coordinating the 5th Annual Hawai`i Island All Nations Powwow, which is an alcohol- and <br /> drug-free event open to the public that will be held on September 16-17, 2017, in Keaukaha; and <br /> WHEREAS,the Big Island Resource Conservation and Development Council is <br /> requesting funds for expenses related to lodging for musicians and dancers and for the rental of a <br /> sound system for the event; and <br /> WHEREAS,the Department of Liquor Control supports organizations and community <br /> events that promote drug-free and alcohol-free activities that are open to the public; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Liquor Control to provide a grant to the Big Island Resource Conservation and Development <br /> Council for the 5th Annual Hawai`i Island All Nations Powwow. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
