' 275 17 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE SUCCESS <br /> FACTORY, INC. FOR SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY,ENGINEERING, AND MATH <br /> EDUCATION AT THE NEXTECH 3-DAY CAMP. <br /> WHEREAS, The Success Factory, Inc., is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established <br /> by the Hawaii STEM Learning Partnership that focuses on boosting learning in science, <br /> technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) for Hawai`i Island students and prepares them <br /> to become the workforce for the innovation economy of the 21st century; and <br /> WHEREAS, The Success Factory, Inc., dba NexTech, is planning an inaugural three-day <br /> workshop at Kilauea Military Camp on October 13-15, 2017, to provide enhanced STEM <br /> education in the fields of robotics, virtual reality technology, engineering,problem solving, and <br /> career readiness; and <br /> WHEREAS, The Success Factory, Inc., is requesting funding assistance to support the <br /> curriculum of the NexTech 3-Day Camp; and <br /> WHEREAS,the Department of Liquor Control supports NexTech's 3-Day Camp <br /> because it will provide an alcohol and drug-free environment for youth to explore and learn <br /> using a variety of STEM lessons, which will promote a clean and sober lifestyle; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used;now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 3 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Liquor Control to provide a grant to The Success Factory, Inc., for STEM education at the <br /> NexTech 3-Day Camp. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Council hereby transfers/appropriates <br /> the following amount as set forth below: <br />
