REQUEST: <br /> Resolution authorizing the Mayor to enter into a multi-year lease agreement for a period of five (5) years for a <br /> 5 Gang Contour Rotary Mower for the Department of Parks and Recreation, Hilo Municipal Golf Course. <br /> B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED): <br /> The 5 Gang Contour Rotary Mower will be utilized to mow 9 fairways on the back nine. These fairways are <br /> currently mowed by two operators using zero turn mowers. The larger cutting width of the 5 Gang Contour <br /> Rotary Mower will increase efficiency and reduce manpower hours needed to cut fairways. This will allow <br /> staff to focus on other areas and will greatly reduce the wear and tear on the zero turn mowers. <br /> The 5 Gang Contour Rotary Mower will be leased for a period of five (5) years. The purchase price is <br /> estimated at $65,600. The estimated monthly cost for the lease is $1,158. <br /> Funding for the lease is included in the FY 2017-2018 Budget.
