REQUEST: <br /> Resolution authorizing County (via R&D) to enter into an agreement with Department of Education, State of <br /> Hawaii, on behalf of Keaau High School. The funding to provide $5,500 to support Kea'au High School <br /> Cougar Tech Robotics construct a robot to clean the air conditioning ducts. The robot will go through the <br /> school's air conditioning system to accomplish two things: 1) survey the current internal conditions that exist <br /> within the air conditioning duct system 2) perform routine cleaning of the ducts to eliminate dust, dirt, and <br /> mold. This invention will make Kea'au High School a healthier learning environment. <br /> The prototype can be tweaked, adjusted and manufactured to help other schools in the State of Hawaii that <br /> have similar problems with their air conditioning systems. <br /> B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED): <br /> Pursuant to Hawaii Revised Statutes §46-7, the County may enter into agreements with "any public body" <br /> with the consent of Council.
