1 <br /> 414 't <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br /> 'ATE O•F•N'' . <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 300 17 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE BIG ISLAND <br /> RESOURCE CONSERVATION AND DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL TO ASSIST WITH <br /> EXPENSES RELATED TO THE 2017 HAWAII ISLAND VETERANS DAY PARADE. <br /> WHEREAS, the Big Island Resource Conservation and Development Council <br /> (BIRCDC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that supports the economic, cultural, and natural <br /> environment of Hawai`i Island through sponsorship of festivals, programs, and special events <br /> unique to this island; and <br /> WHEREAS, BIRCDC is working in partnership with the Hawai`i Island Veterans Day <br /> Parade Committee to honor all veterans in Hawai`i County by coordinating the 2017 Hawaii <br /> Island Veterans Day Parade in Hilo on November 4, 2017; and <br /> WHEREAS, a financial need has been identified by the organizers of the 2017 Hawai`i <br /> Island Veterans Day Parade to cover necessary expenses, including, but not limited to, special <br /> duty police officers, insurance, portable toilets, tents,public address system, and permits; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney encourages and promotes crime <br /> prevention and community initiatives, which improve the quality of life for Hawai`i Island <br /> residents; and <br /> WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 3 will be appropriated to the Office of the <br /> Prosecuting Attorney to provide a grant to the Big Island Resource Conservation and <br /> Development Council to assist with expenses related to the 2017 Hawai`i Island Veterans Day <br /> parade. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
