JMty of ,11. • COUNTY OF HAWAII -•� �' 4 *I STATE OF HAWAII 4*OF'M�'� RESOLUTION NO. 304 17 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO COMMUNITY ENTERPRISES FOR ITS MONTHLY COMMUNITY FORUMS IN WEST HAWAII. WHEREAS, Community Enterprises is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that was created in 2005 to provide monthly forums for West Hawai`i residents to share important information with the community; and WHEREAS, the goal of Community Enterprises is to increase community participation on issues that are important to the residents, economy, and environment of Hawai`i Island; and WHEREAS, Community Enterprises needs financial assistance for insurance, travel reimbursements, printing, materials, supplies, and professional services for web support and video production of its monthly community forums held at the West Hawai`i Civic Center; and WHEREAS,the Department of Research and Development supports this type of community outreach that facilitates partnerships to promote economic growth and to address the needs and concerns of the community; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 7 will be appropriated to the Department of Research and Development to provide a grant to Community Enterprises for conducting its monthly community forums in West Hawai`i. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
