Jt►t.of...... <br /> cf.k•LL: <br /> — <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII v\,‘'.41.% STATE OF HAWAII <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 307' 1:' <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO ASSIST THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND <br /> RECREATION WITH PROVIDING PUBLIC SAFETY AT THE KWXX <br /> HO`OLAULE`A. <br /> WHEREAS, KWXX FM is a radio station that hosts the annual KWXX Ho`olaule`a, a <br /> live-music block party that is free to the public; and <br /> WHEREAS,the KWXX Ho`olaule`a is a drug-free, alcohol-free, and family-friendly <br /> event that draws thousands of revelers from around Hawai`i Island; and <br /> WHEREAS, the 24th annual KWXX Ho`olaule`a was held on September 30, 2017, in <br /> Hilo; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation assists with logistics for this event <br /> and provides traffic control, informational signage, and dumpsters; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation requests funding assistance to have <br /> special-duty police officers help with public safety, crime prevention, and traffic control at the <br /> KWXX Ho`olaule`a; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 2 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Parks and Recreation to assist with public safety expenses at the KWXX Ho`olaule`a. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
