JNtYofN <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII �•(4 7t STATE OF HAWAII <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 308 17 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT FOR THE OUTSTANDING OLDER AMERICANS <br /> AWARD LUNCHEON. <br /> WHEREAS, in 1963, President John F. Kennedy issued a proclamation designating May <br /> as Older Americans Month to acknowledge the contributions of older persons to our country, in <br /> particular those who defended our country; and <br /> WHEREAS, every president since President Kennedy has issued a formal proclamation <br /> during or before the month of May asking the nation to pay tribute to older persons in their <br /> communities; and <br /> WHEREAS, in keeping with this tradition, as part of the Older Americans Month, the <br /> Hawai`i County Office of Aging sponsors an annual Outstanding Older Americans Award <br /> Luncheon that honors our kupuna for their volunteerism and selfless service to their respective <br /> communities; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Office of Aging is requesting funds for activities, advertising, and other <br /> expenses associated with the preparation for the 2018 Outstanding Older Americans Award <br /> Luncheon; now,therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 2 will be appropriated to the Office of Aging for <br /> expenses related to the prepration for the 2018 Outstanding Older Americans Award Luncheon. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
