IPJY-.,OF p•••, <br /> paid <br /> • <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 325 17 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE YWCA OF <br /> HAWAII ISLAND FOR A TWO-DAY SYMPOSIUM TO ADDRESS TERRORISM AND <br /> MASS-VIOLENCE CRIMES IN HAWAII. <br /> WHEREAS,the State of Hawai`i Crime Victim Compensation Commission and the <br /> County of Hawai`i Office of the Prosecuting Attorney are coordinating the "Partnerships to <br /> Prepare and Respond to Terrorism and Mass Violence Crimes Symposium,"which will be held <br /> on October 26-27, 2017, at the Kilauea Military Camp; and <br /> WHEREAS,the YWCA of Hawai`i Island is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization <br /> dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women, and promoting peace,justice, freedom, <br /> and dignity for all; and <br /> WHEREAS,the.YWCA of Hawai`i Island, along with other organizations, will be <br /> participating in the "Partnerships to Prepare and Respond to Terrorism and Mass Violence <br /> Crimes Symposium"to develop a basic collaborative strategy that identifies and meets the needs <br /> of survivors and communities affected by terrorism and mass-violence crimes in Hawai`i; and <br /> WHEREAS, the symposium will also include discussions on coordinated efforts and <br /> protocols to prepare for and respond to terrorism and mass-violence crimes at the local, state, and <br /> federal levels; and <br /> WHEREAS,the YWCA of Hawai`i Island is requesting funds to purchase conference <br /> materials, food, and beverages for participants of the two-day symposium; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated to the Office of the <br /> Prosecuting Attorney to provide a grant to the YWCA of Hawai`i Island to assist with the <br /> "Partnerships to Prepare and Respond to Terrorism and Mass Violence Crimes Symposium." <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
