. .. • COUNTY OF HAWAII *i Nk• /l•' STATE OF HAWAII RESOLUTION NO. 326 17 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO HUI ALOHA '0 PUNA MAKAI TO SUPPORT ITS HANA LIMA '0 PUNA PROJECT. WHEREAS, Hui Aloha '0 Puna Makai is a 501(c)(3) local nonprofit that exists to promote the well-being of the community through its Hana Lima '0 Puna project, which introduces the public to traditional Hawaiian cultural practices in the areas of language, food, crafts, and youth activities; and WHEREAS, the goal of the Hana Lima '0 Puna project is to provide Native Hawaiian cultural presentations and workshops in the Puna-makai community that are free and open to the public; and WHEREAS, Hui Aloha '0 Puna Makai would like to continue the Hana Lima '0 Puna project and is requesting funds to assist with expenses, such as guest speakers, advertising, insurance,materials, and other miscellaneous items; and WHEREAS,the Department of Parks and Recreation supports cultural and educational programs that promote, perpetuate, and encourage activities and programs in the Hawaiian culture, arts, history, and humanities; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated to the Department of Parks and Recreation to provide a grant to Hui Aloha '0 Puna Makai to support its Hana Lima '0 Puna project. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
