(10;7M.' <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII *�' �'- ° STATE OF HAWAII <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 327 17 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE BIG ISLAND <br /> RESOURCE CONSERVATION AND DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL FOR EXPENSES <br /> RELATING TO THE 2017 HAWAII ISLAND VETERANS DAY PARADE. <br /> WHEREAS, the Big Island Resource Conservation and Development Council <br /> (BIRCDC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to assist the people of Hawai`i <br /> Island in achieving sustainable development while caring for and appreciating their natural <br /> environment, as well as ensuring broadened economic opportunities, enriched communities, and <br /> better lives; and <br /> WHEREAS, BIRCDC is working in partnership with the Hawai`i Island Veterans Day <br /> Parade Committee to coordinate the 2017 Hawai`i Island Veterans Day Parade, which will be <br /> held in Hilo on November 4, 2017; and <br /> WHEREAS, this annual parade celebrates those who have served our country, those who <br /> are still serving, and those who have sacrificed for our nation's freedom; and <br /> WHEREAS, BIRCDC is requesting funding assistance to help cover expenses related to <br /> the parade, including but not limited to, portable toilets,tents, permits, insurance, special-duty <br /> police officers,public address system, and other miscellaneous supplies; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney supports public programs that <br /> educate and inform the public and promote safe and healthy community activities; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 1 will be appropriated to the Office of the <br /> Prosecuting Attorney to provide a grant to BIRCDC for expenses relating to the 2017 Hawai`i <br /> Island Veterans Day Parade in Hilo. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
