STATE OF HAWAII RESOLUTION NO. 350 1/ A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO ORCHIDLAND NEIGHBORS IN SUPPORT OF ITS 2017-2018 FOOD BASKET PROGRAM. WHEREAS, Orchidland Neighbors is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to unite people and resources to build a healthier community; and WHEREAS, Orchidland Neighbors has conducted Food Basket distributions at various locations for several years, which benefits the regional community, as well as Orchidland residents; and WHEREAS, Orchidland Neighbors is seeking funds to purchase equipment and supplies, such as cooler chests, hand trucks, and paper bags that will assist with the continuation and expansion of this much needed service to the community; and WHEREAS, the Department of Research and Development supports this grant because it fits within the Department's Community Building mission, that focuses on collaborating with Community-based organizations to balance economic, social and community,health, and environmental priorities; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII Contingency Relief funds from Council District 5 will be appropriated to the Department of Research and Development to provide a grant to Orchidland Neighbors to assist with its 2017- 2018 Food Basket Program. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:
