COUNTY OF HAWAII --_P�.'- '/�.- . • STATE OF HAWAII ff- . -=* RESOLUTION NO. 351 i A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO PUNA COMMUNITY MEDICAL CENTER TO ASSIST WITH MEDICAL SUPPLIES. WHEREAS, the Puna Community Medical Center(PCMC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that is a community-based health center whose mission is to provide readily accessible, high-quality health care for the residents and visitors of Puna; and WHEREAS, PCMC is a walk-in medical clinic that provides urgent care services that is located in the Pahoa Marketplace; and WHEREAS, PCMC is experiencing increased urgent care patient visits, which in turn generates greater demand for wound care supplies that are nonreimbursable expenses; and WHEREAS, the PCMC is requesting funds to assist with the purchase of wound care medical supplies to provide uninterrupted urgent care services for the Puna community, including, but not limited to, bandages, sterile pads, antibiotics, needles, and syringes; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 5 will be appropriated to the Department of Research and Development to provide a grant to Puna Community Medical Center to assist with purchasing of urgent care medical supplies for the residents and visitors of Puna. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
