.vNtYOip,�, <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br /> Oi <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 359 17 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO HAWAII ISLAND <br /> UNITED WAY FOR EXPENSES RELATING TO ITS 2017-2018 COMMUNITY <br /> OUTREACH INITIATIVE AND COMMUNITY MEETINGS IN WEST HAWAII. <br /> WHEREAS, Hawai`i Island United Way ("HIUW") is a 501(c)(3)nonprofit <br /> organization whose mission is to unite people, organizations, and resources to build a healthier <br /> community; and <br /> WHEREAS, HIUW is committed to advancing the common good of all by focusing on <br /> community transformation in the areas of education, income, and health by collaborating with <br /> many community partners to create healthy communities; and <br /> WHEREAS, HIUW is requesting funds to assist with advertising expenses relating to its <br /> 2017-2018 community outreach initiative, and to help pay for tables, chairs, and equipment <br /> needed to hold community meetings in West Hawai`i; and <br /> WHEREAS, one of the goals of the Department of Liquor Control is to support public <br /> programs through education, enforcement, or activities that promote compliance to liquor laws of <br /> the County of Hawai`i; and <br /> WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY.THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 8 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Liquor Control to provide a grant to Hawaii Island United Way to assist with expenses relating <br /> to its 2017-2018 community outreach initiative and community meetings in West Hawai`i. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
