•�tY Oi M., <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII !=�I STATE OF HAWAII <br /> r• <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 369 17 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE KONA TAHITI <br /> FETE EDUCATIONAL AND CULTURAL ASSOCIATION FOR THE KONA TAHITI <br /> FETE 2017. <br /> WHEREAS, the Kona Tahiti Fete Educational and Cultural Association is a 501(c)(3) <br /> nonprofit organization whose mission is to contribute to the enrichment of youth and young <br /> adults by enhancing their understanding of their ancestral heritage; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Kona Tahiti Fete Educational and Cultural Association and the TeMana <br /> Rose Tahitian School of Dance are hosting the Kona Tahiti Fete 2017 on November 1-4; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Kona Tahiti Fete 2017 will consist of various Polynesian groups that <br /> will share their culture through dance, craft, music, art, language, and cuisine at the <br /> Kekuaokalani Gymnasium; and <br /> WHEREAS,the Kona Tahiti Fete Educational and Cultural Association has requested <br /> funds as a reimbursement for advertising and hiring of an audio technician for the Kona Tahiti <br /> Fete 2017; and <br /> WHEREAS,this event falls within the Department of Research and Development's <br /> goals to increase the economic contribution of the visitor industry to Hawai`i Island, promote <br /> quality experiences for visitors, and promote a high quality of life for Hawai`i Island residents; <br /> and . <br /> WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 7 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Research and Development to provide a grant to the Kona Tahiti Fete Educational and Cultural <br /> Association for the Kona Tahiti Fete 2017. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
