1,1 OF <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII •�!���'' �•- STATE OF HAWAII <br /> . <br /> TEOFNF'� ' <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 371 147 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO SELF DISCOVERY <br /> THROUGH ART TO OFFER ITS RRR PROGRAM IN PAHOA. <br /> WHEREAS, Self Discovery Through Art is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that <br /> supports community building and family strengthening through art and the creative process; and <br /> WHEREAS, the RRR is an"art as medicine" group program that focuses on the <br /> concepts of Recovery from loss, Resilience as a bridge from loss, and ReCreation of a life worth <br /> living; and <br /> WHEREAS,participation in the program will teach individuals to rely more on their <br /> strengths and to access community resources when facing challenges and adversities to reduce <br /> the financial and social services burden on County resources; and <br /> WHEREAS, Self Discovery Through Art would like to offer its RRR program at the <br /> Pahoa Neighborhood Facility and is requesting funds to defray the costs of workbooks, supplies, <br /> refreshments, and publicity; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation supports programs that build <br /> communities and strengthens families; and <br /> WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Parks and Recreation to provide a grant to Self Discovery Through Art to defray the costs of <br /> offering its RRR program in Pahoa. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
