•SSVOF• N <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII -•_PZk.' /1•1 STATE OF HAWAII <br /> •,,,1'•�••.�rE�OF MF'� ' <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 372 17 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE FRIENDS OF <br /> THE FUTURE FOR THE REIMBURSEMENT OF EXPENSES INCURRED FROM THE <br /> 2ND ANNUAL DOMESTIC PEACE WALK AND VIGIL IN WAIMEA. <br /> WHEREAS, Friends of the Future is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that envisions <br /> harmony and balance among the diverse people of Hawai`i and encourages everybody to <br /> contribute their deepest values, create shared visions, and continuously improve Hawai`i Island <br /> communities; and <br /> WHEREAS, Friends of the Future worked in partnership with the Domestic Violence <br /> Awareness Committee to coordinate the 2nd Annual Domestic Peace Walk and Vigil in Waimea, <br /> which was held on October 14, 2017; and <br /> WHEREAS, Friends of the Future is requesting a reimbursement for expenses incurred <br /> from the 2nd Annual Domestic Peace Walk and Vigil, including, but not limited to, educational <br /> material, t-shirts, banners, and posters; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney supports domestic violence <br /> prevention and intervention initiatives to improve the quality of life for Hawai`i Island residents; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 9 will be appropriated to the Office of the <br /> Prosecuting Attorney to provide a grant to the Friends of the Future for the reimbursement of <br /> expenses incurred from the 2nd Annual Domestic Peace Walk and Vigil in Waimea. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
