S. Secret Service Special Agent is donating a <br /> tactical rifle to the Hawaii County Police Department; and <br /> WHEREAS, this equipment will be employed by the Hawai`i County Police <br /> Department's Special Response Team; and <br /> WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter <br /> provides that the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations <br /> of money, securities or other personal property or of real estate or any interest in <br /> real estate, and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162 (a) of the Hawaii County <br /> Code states that any gifts or donations of money, securities, or personal property <br /> which fall within the capitalization procedures of the Department of Finance, may <br /> be accepted by resolution approved by the Council; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Police Department recommends the <br /> acceptance of this donation; now, therefore, <br />
