No. 524 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> Kailua-Kona, Hawai`i <br /> TIME: 11:00 a.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawai`i County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Planning, to which was referred Communication No. 524, reports as <br /> follows: <br /> Communication No. 524, transmitted by Mayor Harry Kim, dated September 29, 2017, <br /> nominates Mr. Steve Hoffmann to the Hawai`i County North Kohala Community Development <br /> Plan Action Committee. <br /> Ms. Rose Bautista, Executive Assistant to Mayor Kim, announced that Mr. Hoffmann is <br /> currently out of the State and that he would be available at the November 2, 2017 Council <br /> meeting in Hilo. Ms. Bautista stated that Mr. Hoffmann was born and raised in Kohala and that <br /> he is not affiliated with any political party. If confirmed, Mr. Hoffmann will serve a term ending <br /> September 9, 2020. <br /> Council Member Kanuha voiced concern that Mr. Hoffmann was unknown to this committee. <br /> The vote was then taken with seven Council Members voting"aye" and Council Member <br /> Poindexter voting"no."
