..OJ�SY OF \I�� .. <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII .{ _ STATE OF HAWAII <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 401 17 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO ASSIST THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND <br /> RECREATION WITH EXPENSES INCURRED FROM PROVIDING PUBLIC SAFETY <br /> AT THE 2017 KWXX HO`OLAULE`A. <br /> WHEREAS, KWXX FM is a local radio station that hosts the annual KWXX <br /> Ho`olaule`a, a live-music block party in downtown Hilo that is free to the public; and <br /> WHEREAS,the annual KWXX Ho`olaule`a is a drug- and alcohol-free, family-friendly <br /> event with numerous stages and entertainers positioned around downtown Hilo that attracts <br /> residents from around the island; and <br /> WHEREAS, the 2017 KWXX Ho`olaule`a was held on September 30, 2017, and the <br /> Department of Parks and Recreation assisted with the logistics for the event by providing traffic <br /> control, informational signage, and dumpsters; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation has requested funding assistance <br /> for the reimbursement of expenses related to hiring special-duty police officers for traffic control <br /> and public safety at the 2017 KWXX Ho`olaule`a; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Parks and Recreation to reimburse funds used for public safety at the 2017 KWXX Ho`olaule`a. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
