JNSV OF COUNTY OF HAWAII ai• �' /_#- STATE OF HAWAII RESOLUTION NO. 404 17 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO HAWAII ISLAND UNITED WAY TO SUPPORT ITS COMMUNITY MARKETING AND OUTREACH PROGRAM. WHEREAS, Hawai`i Island United Way ("HIUW") is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to unite people, organizations, and resources to build a healthier community; and WHEREAS, HIUW partners with and supports numerous health and human service programs that reach over 75% of Hawai`i Island families and individuals each year; and WHEREAS, HIUW is requesting funds to support its marketing and outreach program to promote its name through advertisements on variety of media sources, bumper stickers, and educational literature in hopes of increasing awareness of its mission island wide; and WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control supports organizations and programs that promote the health, safety, and welfare of the community; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 9 will be appropriated to the Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant to Hawai`i Island United Way to support its community marketing and outreach program. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
