Lee yc'1 ► - .;r_ - <br /> Council District 3 -- <br /> SUBJECT: Report of Attendance at a Community Meeting Regarding the Mass Transit <br /> Agency's Islandwide Master Plan. <br /> In accordance with HRS §92-2.5(e), I report my attendance along with that of council members <br /> Eileen O'Hara and Jennifer Ruggles at the Mass Transit Agency's Community Informational <br /> Meeting on the Islandwide Master Plan, held at Kea'au Community Center on October 11, 2017. <br /> Those attending the meeting were asked to provide input regarding the policies, goals, and <br /> priorities of the Mass Transit Agency, and were shown recommendations for potential Hele-On <br /> route changes for the purpose of improving efficiency in the operations of the agency. <br /> Our attendance at this public hearing allowed constituents to give their council members <br /> valuable insight regarding opportunities and challenges related to the public transit system,their <br /> mobility in Puna, and transportation to the other districts around Hawai`i Island. It is my <br /> understanding that these concerns will require a multifaceted approach in the development of an <br /> islandwide mass transit master plan. <br /> HRS §92-2.5(e) states that two or more member of a board, but less than a quorum, many attend <br /> an informational meeting or presentation on matters relating to office board business, including a <br /> community meeting, provided that the meeting or presentation is not specifically and exclusively <br /> organized for or directed toward members of the board, and that the board members shall report <br /> their attendance and the matters presented and discussed that related to official board business. <br /> Please place this communication on the next available Council agenda. <br /> c.Q11it11.
