OF H,. <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII � �'- '!_� STATE OF HAWAII <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 42'. 17 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE HAWAII ARTIST <br /> COLLABORATION TO PURCHASE ART SUPPLIES AND MATERIALS FOR <br /> KAHAKAI ELEMENTARY SCHOOL. <br /> WHEREAS, the Hawai`i Artist Collaboration is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization <br /> whose mission is to create opportunities for artists, art organizations, and educators to integrate <br /> their collective knowledge, experiences, and resources for the benefit of society and the <br /> Hawaiian culture; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Hawai`i Artist Collaboration previously assisted Kealakehe Elementary. <br /> School with providing art supplies to its students and would now like to assist Kahakai <br /> Elementary School; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Hawaii Artist Collaboration is requesting funds to purchase art <br /> supplies and materials such as paint, clay, markers, paper, watercolors, and glue for students at <br /> Kahakai Elementary School; and <br /> WHEREAS, one of the goals of the Department of Liquor Control is to support <br /> educational youth programs that promote alcohol- and drug-free activities; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 7 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Liquor Control to provide a grant to the Hawai`i Artist Collaboration to purchase art supplies and <br /> materials for students at Kahakai Elementary School. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
