OF'N'� RESOLUTION NO. 427 1 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE FOOD BASKET, INC., TO SUPPLY ADDITIONAL FOOD TO THE PAHOA PANTRY. WHEREAS, The Food Basket, Inc., is a 501(c)(3)nonprofit organization whose mission is to end hunger in Hawai`i County; and WHEREAS, The Food Basket, Inc., is affiliated with the Pahoa Pantry, which is operated by New Hope Christian Fellowship Puna at the Pahoa Neighborhood Facility; and WHEREAS, the Pahoa Pantry purchases food from The Food Basket, Inc., and distributes it to needy families on the second Friday of the month in a safe, alcohol- and drug- free environment; and WHEREAS, The Food Basket, Inc., is requesting funds to supply additional food to the Pahoa Pantry to continue serving the community into the new year; and WHEREAS,the Department of Liquor Control supports drug- and alcohol-free events that strengthen families and communities; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated to the Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant to The Food Basket, Inc., to supply additional food to the Pahoa Pantry. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
