He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from <br /> California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. Currently serving on the West <br /> Hawaii Fishery Council, Mr. Young is also a former member of the Hawaii Island Burial <br /> Council. He has served the community through participation with KUPA Friends of <br /> Ho`okena Beach Park and the Saddle Road Task Force. <br /> Mr. Young has been a resident of the County for at least 30 years. He states that he is a <br /> member of the Democratic Party. <br /> Currently seated on the Kona CDP Action Committee, Mr. Young is eligible for <br /> reappointment. If confirmed, he will serve a term to expire on May 31, 2020. <br /> Due to the needs of the committee this nomination seeks to fill, I respectfully request <br /> that this item be waived at Committee and placed on the full Council agenda for <br /> December 20, 2017.
