REQUEST: <br /> The Department of Public Works is requesting a resolution authorizing the abandonment of a portion of <br /> Kaimu-Kapoho Road which spans from Pohoiki Road to the entrance of the Pohoiki Road intersection with <br /> Kaimu- Kapoho Road. The Pohoiki Bypass Road was constructed to change the traffic flow to avoid this <br /> Flood-prone tract. With its completion, this section is no longer needed by the County. <br /> B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED): <br /> The County constructed the "Pohoiki Bypass Road" to realign Kapoho Road because of a portion of Kapoho <br /> Road was becoming increasingly flooded due to erosion of the coastline near that portion of road.
