Members of the Hawai`i County Council Hawaii County Council –t 25 Aupuni Street Hilo, Hawai`i 96720 f— Re: Resolution to Negotiate Lease The County of Hawai`i, through the Office of Housing and Community Development (OHCD), acquired a 9.091 acre parcel identified by tax map key (TMK) (3) 2-4-001:168 from the State of Hawai`i. The purpose of this land is to develop an affordable housing project for senior citizens and other related public purposes. The OHCD has determined that Hawai`i Island Community Development Corporation (HICDC), a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization has extensive experience in the development of self-help and affordable housing for low and moderate-income households. Enclosed is a resolution authorizing the Director of Finance to negotiate the lease of this real property to HICDC to plan, develop and construct approximately 200 affordable senior rental housing units on this property for a period of 75 years at a set lease rental amount of$100 per year. This resolution also authorizes the Mayor of the County of Hawai`i to execute said lease agreement on behalf of the County of Hawai`i, following approval by the Council.
