No. 685 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> Kailua-Kona, Hawai`i <br /> TIME: 1:30 p.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawai`i County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Planning, to which was referred Communication No. 685, reports as <br /> follows: <br /> Communication No. 685, transmitted by Mayor Harry Kim, dated January 4, 2018, nominates <br /> Tristie K. Licoan to the Hawai`i County South Kohala Development Plan Action Committee. <br /> Ms. Rose Bautista, Executive Assistant to Mayor Kim, introduced Ms. Licoan who appeared in <br /> person. Ms. Licoan has been a lifelong resident of Hawai`i and is not a member of any political <br /> party. If confirmed, she will serve a term to expire on January 31, 2020. <br /> Several Council Members commented in favor of Ms. Licoan. The vote was then taken with 8 <br /> Council Members voting "aye." Chair Eoff stated that Ms. Licoan did not need to appear at the <br /> next Council meeting for confirmation of her appointment. <br /> Pursuant to Article 3, Section 16-5 of the Hawai`i County Code, the Community Development <br /> Plan Action Committees shall consist of nine members, and shall be appointed by the Mayor and <br /> approved by the Council. <br /> Your Committee on Planning is in accord with the purpose and intent of Communication <br /> No. 685, and recommends confirmation of the appointment of Tristie K.
