••�Jt►tV of.!,�, <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII _''''��� STATE OF HAWAII <br /> +p�; Mow:'�� <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 498 18 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE RAINBOW <br /> FRIENDS ANIMAL SANCTUARY TO SUPPORT ITS MONTHLY SPAY AND <br /> NEUTER CLINICS. <br /> WHEREAS, Rainbow FriendsAnimal Sanctuary is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization <br /> dedicated to the well-being of Hawai`i Island's abandoned, abused, or neglected animals; and <br /> WHEREAS, once a month, Rainbow Friends Animal Sanctuary partners with a local <br /> veterinarian to conduct a spay and neuter clinic; and <br /> WHEREAS, Rainbow Friends Animal Sanctuary is requesting funds to spay and/or <br /> neuter 100 feral cats to help control the feral cat population; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Research and Development supports this project, which <br /> falls within its community-building initiative to collaborate with community-based organizations <br /> to balance economic, social, health, and environmental priorities; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, <br /> service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Research and Development to provide a grant to Rainbow Friends Animal Sanctuary to support <br /> its monthly spay and neuter clinics. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
