20. Flora/Fauna: As the property is improved with a single-family dwelling, no <br /> professional flora or fauna surveys were conducted of the site. The property is located in <br /> an urban setting in an area dominated by single-family residential uses, and has been in <br /> residential uses for over 40 years. <br /> 21. Archaeological/Cultural/Historical Resources: No professional archaeological surveys <br /> or cultural assessments were conducted of the property. The Department of Land Natural <br /> Resources-State Historic Preservation Division issued a"no historic properties affected" <br /> letter dated November 22, 2017, stating that no historic properties will be affected by this <br /> project. SHPD records indicated that there are no known archaeological sites and that <br /> there has been no archaeological inventory survey (AIS) of this project area. However, <br /> available photos indicated that the area has been impacted by urban development and <br /> previous grading and grubbing. Presently, there is no evidence of any traditional and <br /> customary Native Hawaiian rights being practiced on the site, nor existence of known <br /> valued cultural, historical or native resources in the area. Thus, it is not anticipated that <br /> the proposed request will have any adverse impact on cultural or historical resources in <br /> the area. <br /> 22. Public Access: There is no known record of a designated public access to the shoreline <br /> or to mountain areas that traverses the subject property. <br /> 23. Ka`ahakini Stream: The intermittent Ka'ahakini Stream meanders through the Hilo <br /> Municipal Golf Course, and is located about 2,400 feet to the south of the subject <br /> property. The proposed Change of Zone and subdivision actions is not expected to <br /> impact the Ka'ahakini Stream. <br /> PUBLIC UTILITIES AND SERVICES <br /> 24. Access: Access to the property is from Kehaulani Street. Kehaulani Street is a <br /> County-owned roadway with an approximate 20-foot pavement within a 40-foot <br /> right-of-way. According to the Department of Public Works, the new driveway for <br /> proposed Lot 3-B shall comply with Chapter 22, County Streets, of the Hawai`i County <br /> Code. The construction of the driveway will require a permit from the Department of , <br /> Public Works. <br /> 25. Water: According to the Department of Water Supply(DWS), water is available from <br /> -4- <br />
